What are the main advantages of leasing?
- Preserve bank lines of credit
- Because a lease is independent from other sources of financing, it extends credit limits which reserves more traditional sources should they be needed. An established lease account can facilitate adding more SkyTabs when needed.
- Protect against obsolescence—Leasing enables an aircraft operator to keep pace with technology improvements and apply the latest SkyTab models periodically.
- Hedge against inflation—Operating lease payments are made in cheaper future dollars from pre-tax operating cash.
- Simplify accounting and eliminate complex depreciation reserve schedules
- Create new credit source
- Implement productivity improvements today—Why postpone or delay putting the latest and best equipment to work? Implement productivity improvements with the right tool for the job without delay.
- Conserve working capital—Leasing preserved capital to invest in profit-generating opportunities. Working capital for equipment purchase can be better deployed to earn a higher rate of return.
- Convenient and quick approval process
- Tax benefits*—Generally, operating lease payments may be deducted as an operating expense making payments 100% deductible. This means a lower after-tax cost of the equipment is realized due to the accelerated write-off over the lease term.
*Always consult your qualified tax professional to discuss any potential tax benefits.
What are my options at lease-end?
- Continue leasing the SkyTab on a month-to-month basis
- Purchase the SkyTab for fair market value or the amount of the purchase option selected at the initiation of the lease
- Upgrade the SkyTab by arranging a trade-in with IMS Flight Deck and starting a new lease based on the difference in cost
- Return the SkyTab in accordance with the lease terms and conditions
